Memorizing Scripture
I've always been bad at memorizing scripture. In January, I started memorizing Romans with the goal of knowing the whole book by the end of the year. Well, I've done 17 verses in 3 months. If I keep at this pace, I figure it will take me about 6.4 years to memorize it all. So, how about some mass accountability? I put a new ticker over to the right showing how I am doing at committing God's Word to memory. I know the Word is worth more than any earthly thing, and I want to act like it by treasuring it in my heart.

Chicago Day 2
Karen and Sean left in the morning for Portland. Andy and I walked around downtown some with Liam. It was beautiful weather, just windy! Kailyn's blanket helped shield Liam from the wind.
Chicago Day 1
We went to Chicago on Thursday with Karen and Sean. We were disappointed because the weather was so weird that day-rainy, snowy, hailing, windy. Here are a few pictures of us venturing out. We did end up in the great ballroom on the end of the Navy Pier all by ourselves (that's me twirling around in there).

"Our" House
We signed papers today on the house that we'd like to buy. The owner has also signed them, accepting our offer. However, the owner is apparently quite in debt and will actually be losing money by accepting our offer, so now the bank also needs to approve the deal. We're praying that all will go smoothly and the bank will give its okay. They have until April 8th to let us know. If they don't approve our bid, the house will most likely go into foreclosure. We're trusting that the Lord will provide the right home for us, this one or another one!

Rice Cereal Allergy?
Last Saturday night, and again last night, Liam started throwing up about two hours after we fed him rice cereal from Gerber. He had gotten rice cereal for about 1.5-2 weeks in February, but I hadn't fed it to him for at least a week. Liam never had any reactions before. He threw up several times throughout the night, but by morning was fine. He never had a fever and had no diarrhea. The rice cereal has soy in it, which I guess is a common allergen. Has anyone else had anything like this happen with their babies?

Buying a House
We put in an offer on a house today! We are very excited. It is in a great neighborhood and we are really hoping that they accept our offer. You all can pray us through this process, that Lord willing, we'd get the house and that we'll be trusting him during this busy time.

First Tooth
I was just complaining to Julie Thiry this morning that Liam is being extra special fussy today. It turns out that he has a reason why-his first tooth is starting to break through! I'll take a picture of it when it is more visible for all you proud grandparents/aunts/uncles and great grandparents. I hear this can make nursing a bit more, shall we say, adventurous?

Day with Daddy
What a blessing to have a good husband and a great father to our boy! Also, I lucked out marrying someone with such beautiful blue eyes, now our baby has them too!

Liam is Five Months Old
Liam is now five months old and we are so thankful for him! We love our little boy so much. He has been a great joy. Liam is now turning on his back and tummy (and can make some distance with turning), can sort of sit up for a few seconds, laughs, and so much more that entertains us.
We recently got a purple leather couch from Andy's grandma after she passed away. We were thankful for it, but not sure how to make it go with the rest of our furnishings, because well, we don't have a lot of purple leather. But I have got to tell you, man, if you ever have a chance for leather with kids, no matter the color, go for it. Liam has spit up all over this thing and all I have to do is wipe it down with a wet cloth. I love it, even in all it's purpleness.

Abort 73
At our new church in Rockford, we have been able to meet and start to know many wonderful families. Two of these families run a ministry called Abort 73. I had heard about it before moving to Rockford, but we are getting more acquainted with it.
We are continually encouraged by the ministry and by the stories of babies lives being saved as a result. I'd encourage you to visit their site www.abort73.com. It strives to educate people about abortion and some of that education is graphic, but then again, it is only showing what abortion is, brutal, deadly violence against a defenseless child.
The families involved with Abort 73 have caused me to examine my own life to see what ways I am stepping out in faith. I love security and knowing where the next paycheck is coming from. I love being comfortable and not offending. Yet here are two families that are living by faith by being steadfastly committed to God's heart of loving children, and by believing that God will provide for them and their children through the gifts of Christians who also desire that not one more child's life is taken.
It also causes me to be so thankful for all the families that are willing and wanting to adopt. What a wonderful alternative to abortion! And what a wonderful way to truly care for orphans, by loving and accepting a child into your own family! Aren't we thankful that it is God's heart, to take in desperate and needy children into His family? Where would we be if it wasn't?!
So, I am grateful to the ministers at Abort 73, and I am thankful for parents that adopt. Check out abort73 and you can even buy some very cool apparel, which advertises for the ministry. They basically sell it for cost because they want more people to be exposed to the truth about abortion, and in being exposed, choose life for their child.
Are there any ministries that you have been exposed to lately that have encouraged and challenged you?
