Asher's Update

I took Asher in for his post op follow up appointment after his pyeloplasty. They put some dye into his kidney through the tube going into it, in hopes that the dye would go down the normal route to his diaper. His diaper didn't turn blue, which means the dye didn't get through. The doctors are still not too concerned, although I didn't understand quite why. They have been quick to express concern at other times though, so I'm hoping they are right this time in not being worried. They took his tube out of his back, so for the first time in 2 months, he doesn't have any weird tubes hanging out of his body! Yay for that! You can pray with us that the surgery will work in restoring function to the kidney and that his ureter would stay open so the urine can pass down to his bladder. He has a test in 2 months that will test us if the surgery is working. I am excited that he can finally have a real bath again!

Thanks for the update Arianna. Glad to hear you had a safe trip to Chicago. Sorry it wasn't more confirming of the success of the surgery. We'll keep praying. Talk to you soon.

Ohhh, that is a LONG two months for a baby!!! Yea for a yummy smelling kid again!

We'll keep praying for his kidney and calm nerves for his mother- who I fear sometimes knows TOO much for her own good in this arena...

:-) Love you Arianna! Leah

Asher's such a trooper! It is amazing how tough kids are. We're sorry you didn't get more affirming news about the procedure. We'll continue to pray for your family and Asher.
