Baby Update

Well friends, here's the news. The baby's head is fully engaged! Here's the problem, our doctor is leaving for vacation on Saturday the 29th. We're due on the 26th. So the plan is to have an appointment on the 24th where our doctor will do our first internal exam. If the cervix is dilated, we can make the decision to have him "strip the membranes" to hurry along the process, most likely ensuring that the baby will be born before Saturday. If the cervix isn't dilated at all, we don't know what the plan is. Please pray for us to make a wise decision on the 24th!

Especially for Julie Thiry-I finally decided to wash some baby clothes since it seems like he might be making an appearance this next week. But no, I still have not packed a hospital bag. Gotta pace yourself:)

Hi Betsy-

Well, not much is happening. The doctor did strip my membranes. He said 50% of women will start labor within 48 hrs of having it done. It'll be 48 hrs for me tomorrow at around 9 am. I was only 1 cm dilated and 60% effaced on Monday, which the doctor thought was great but didn't sound like much to me. On Thursday, Andy, my parents, and I are going to go get me the "Maternity Salad" at a little restaurant in Studio City that is supposed to make you go into labor. We'll see. If not, the plan is to induce me October 6th. We'll update the blog if anything happens. Oh, and Los Robles is very nice from what I'm told-one of my co-workers has a second job there and she says it is plush.

Yep, stripping the membranes worked for me. But if it doesn't work for you, at least you have the Oct 6 date that you can look to(that sounds so far away...I know). We will keep praying! Go get that salad.

Hey there! We found your blog via the Chun's and are so excited about your baby news! I remember those last few days so well... and my doctor promising that I would NOT be pregnant forever, even if I felt like it.
Glad you had your membranes stripped... even though it isn't remotely fun. Can't wait to hear if the salad works! :)
Anyhow... hang in there and we look forward to seeing pictures of baby Tobin!
